The International Anglican Domain Naming Committee maintains the domain anglican.org in trust for the Anglican Communion. They maintain a list of all dioceses in the Anglican Communion with links to all those who have web pages. Unallocated domain names are available free of charge to official representatives of a diocese. See the page Using the ANGLICAN.ORG domain for details.

The Society of Archbishop Justus operates the Internet server which administers this. (The Society also host the Ely Diocesan web site.)

Anglicans OnLine! -- a superb set of pages reflecting the international nature of the Anglican Communion. These pages are the first place to visit for up-to-date Anglican news from around the world, together with a very comprehensive set of links to other Anglican and related pages.

Two other useful sites are maintained by the Anglican Communion Office in London, and the Church of England.

Following the Porvoo Agreement the Church of England is now a member of the Porvoo Communion. Some other member churches are The Church of Sweden, the Church of Norway, The Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland, and the Church of Iceland, as well as the Church of Ireland and the Church in Wales.
The Church of Denmark did not ratify the Porvoo Agreement.

The Diocese of Ely is linked in partnership and prayer with the Evangelical Lutheran Church of the North Elbe [Nordelbishe Ev-Luth. Kirche or NEK].

Recent press releases from the Anglican world, as well as archives of older releases, are available from the Anglican Communion News Service in London, and from the Episcopal News Service in New York.

The home page of the University of Cambridge is a useful starting point for local people. You can search for the address of anyone at the University, or consult rail timetables, or browse the Cambridge University Press catalogue. Many of the Colleges and Departments have their own home pages too. You can access the Cambridge University Library catalogue.

Anglia Polytechnic University also has a very useful set of pages, including Information about Cambridge. Anglia hosts a home page for wintercomfort, a local charity providing help and shelter for the homeless in Cambridge.

The local weather forecast can be found on the BBC web site.

Cambridge is also the home of the first Emmaus Community for the homeless in the UK.

Tyndale House home page. Tyndale House is a Biblical Studies Research Library in Cambridge.

For non-Anglican churches in the area: the Eastern Province of the United Reformed Church includes most of the area of the Diocese; Cambridge Community Church is an evangelical, charismatic Christian church based in Cambridge.

Philip & Rosalind Lund, Theological Booksellers: mail order new and secondhand (used) booksellers sending out 2 to 3 catalogues a month in their specialized fields.

SPCK Online: online version of the religious bookshop which has a branch in Cambridge

The Cambridge bookseller Heffers now have an extensive set of pages. You can browse their bookshelves, search for titles, authors, etc, and order books from anywhere in the world.

The Cambridge Online City project was launched on 29 January 1996. Online City "brings free access to the Internet at a variety of public places in Cambridge as well as access to information about Cambridge from its very own Web site."

Cambridge Free Net originally aimed to provide extremely low cost Internet access for people in Cambridge. With the advent of free ISPs, they have changed their goals somewhat.

An Anglican Liturgical Library contains much useful material, including texts from the ASB and the forthcoming Common Worship, together with Celebrating Common Prayer, and links to Anglican and other liturgical material available on the internet.

The Church of England is now publishing the definitive texts of new liturgical material as it is authorized at its Common Worship web site.

Simon Kershaw has compiled an unofficial calendar of holy people associated with the Diocese of Ely called Singing the Song, including collects, readings and biographical notes.

Christian Aid Week 2004: Christian Aid has launched a dedicated website for Christian Aid Week 2004.

Christians on the Internet, or COIN, exists to encourage Christians in Britain and Ireland to join and make use of the Internet, and through those individuals to encourage the various churches they belong to to do the same. It can offer a whole range of skills and services, or direct you at others who can offer them.

Church House Bookshop, one of the largest Christian bookshops in the UK, carries over 10,000 religious titles including the full range of books published by Church House Publishing, the official publishing imprint of the Church of England. International mail order by email is supported.

The Church Times is a weekly paper covering events in the Church of England and elsewhere.

The Centre for the Study of Jewish-Christian Relations at Wesley House in Cambridge offers courses accredited through Anglia Polytechnic University in Jewish-Christian Relations.
