About ‘News Desk’

News - is where you will hopefully find the most current news stories . These stories will become the basis for the Diocesan Newsletter the Ely Ensign.

Ely Ensign: flying the flag around the Ely Diocese. The new style Ensign is now available in PDF format. There is an archive of the Ensign from August 1995, when it was the first on-line Diocesan magazine in the UK.

You can email Owen Spencer-Thomas, Director of Communications and editor of the Ely Ensign with articles and events.

Appointments is where the latest appointments and departures are to be found. News about apointments in the Diocese is also posted to the Diocesan Announcements list. You may subscribe or browse the online archives.

Reports and Statements - is where reports from Diocesan and Church of England Organisations and Committees will be posted. What's On speaks for itself, and is closely linked to the Publicity Section - where articles by and links to, individuals like Organ Repairers etc, Churches and Christian advertisers can be found. The Resource Section - relating to Liturgy, Music and many other useful links.

The Diocese sponsors two email lists about the diocese. One is for official announcements from the Bishop, Suffragan Bishop and Archdeacons, the Diocesan Secretary, and the Diocesan Director of Communications. The other is a general discussion list for items of interest to people in the diocese. For further information about these two lists, including information on subscribing and unsubscribing see the mailing lists page. This page also links to the archives of these two lists.

There is an Archive of all the previous articles and reports which have appeared on this site.

The Diocesan Diary shows the concerts, events, meetings flower festivals etc happening in and around the Diocese. You can post your own events to the diary, if you live in the Diocese, and the event is in connection with your church, or the diocese. All submissions will have to be authorised before they becone visible on the diary, as a security precaution.
