Ministry
The
Diocese of Ely and its people are involved in many
different sorts of ministry to others. This work involves
the clergy, and lay officers and voluntary workers.
- The Ely Diocesan Board of Education and Training is responsible for all areas of education and training in the diocese. Its work involves the education of adults, youth and children, the training of people for work in the diocese, the continuing ministerial education of clergy, and work in schools, including responsibility of church schools in the diocese. It also includes the Resources Centre, housed at the diocesan office in Ely, contains a comprehensive collection of material for resourcing parish life and school religious education and collective worship. Material at the Resources Centre may be borrowed to support work in parishes and schools.

- The Diocesan Policy on Child Protection. Much work is concerned with children and the young. The Diocese has an official policy for the protection of children. A new policy was adopted in 1999 and follows the Church of England House of Bishops' Policy on Child Protection which was published in 1999 for the General Synod of the Church of England Board for Social Responsibility.
- Introducing the Church of England: baptism, Holy Communion, marriage, funerals, the General Synod, and finance and cashflow. From a series of leaflets published by the Church of England Communications Unit.
- Authorized diocesan liturgical material: Services authorized by the Bishop of Ely for use in the diocese, where no provision is made in the Book of Common Prayer or in other national service books. Includes The Institution and Induction of a new Priest
- At its meeting in November 1995, the Diocesan Board for Social Responsibility adopted a statement about the National Lottery.
