About these pages ...
These pages are, with the approval of the Bishop, the official pages of the Diocese of Ely. However, except where explicitly noted, any opinions are those of the author(s), and not necessarily those of the Diocese or its officials. The diocesan Electronic Communications Group sets and implements the policy for the development of these pages. It is in turn responsible to the diocesan Communications Committee.
We hope these pages will serve to:
- HELP the Diocese disseminate its own information among all its people; making pastoral, evangelistic and administrative material available as widely and as quickly as possible
- GATHER together people in the Diocese who are already on-line, both those with much experience, and those with little;
- ENCOURAGE others in the Diocese to come on-line, and to provide information and support to them;
Please help us by reading and replying to our feedback page. Thank you.
Finally, my grateful thanks to those who made possible the first version of the Diocese of Ely web site in June 1995: first and foremost to the Rt Revd Stephen Sykes, Bishop of Ely, for sanctioning publication and for his encouragement and support, and to Brian Reid for providing disc and server; and also to Alan Jesson and Tom Ambrose for their constant support. Thanks also to Geoff Dodgson, Gordon Giles, Robin Pickering and all who have helped create these pages.
Special thanks to the Society of Archbishop Justus for its forethought in registering the domain name anglican.org and making available the ely.anglican.org sub-domain
